With more than two decades of experience collaborating with a wide array of organizations, ranging from scrappy startups to established non-profits and a Fortune 5 corporation, I've cultivated a lean, inquisitive, and creative approach that fuels my daily work. I specialize in navigating and mapping complex, data-heavy problem spaces, bringing clarity to opportunities, and crafting software solutions that simplify and streamline intricate processes.

My extensive background encompasses designing for both external and internal users. The enterprise applications I research and design empower employees, enabling them to work smarter and happier while delivering significant cost savings for organizations.

Currently, I operate within the Extreme Programming (XP) agile framework. I work closely with designers, engineers, project managers, and business partners on a daily basis to deliver results quickly. Based in Phoenix, AZ.

Product Design Skills

  • I excel at conducting thorough research, gathering valuable insights, and framing problems in a way that paves the path for innovative solutions. By combining user-centric methodologies with strategic thinking, I ensure that every project begins with a rock-solid foundation (and Miro boards full of useful artifacts).

  • User Testing and Validation are at the core of my design process, and I simply would never have achieved the design success I have without them. By prioritizing user satisfaction and usability, I fine-tune designs to deliver products that resonate with and empower them to achieve their product goals.

    Deliverables: interactive prototypes, event storms, co-creation sessions, test script creation, user testing moderation, affinity maps, validation scores, user personas.

  • Rapid ideation and iteration is totally my jam - whether sketches in my notebook or Figma files, I create the skeletal structure that will become exceptional user experiences. Quick, iterative design breathes life into the designs, refining them as we continue to gather feedback from users and stakeholders. The end goal is always the vital marriage of form and functionality, meeting the needs of the users (and looking good in the process).

    Ideally, this process happens hand-in-hand with our engineering and product colleagues, with a regular cadence of discussions and decisions around technical feasibility and prioritization.

    Deliverables: pen and paper wireframes, lo-fi mock-ups, iterative designs, experience maps, interactive prototypes, sitemaps, interaction & visual patterns.

  • At CVS, I have contributed to the Pulse Design System, collaborating with engineers to create components our teams can utilize for rapid software development. Additionally, I was on the ground floor of creating a new, iterative design system for the Software Driven Enterprise initiative. Aided by my extensive background in branding and marketing, my proficiency in UI design ensures that every element, from color palettes to micro-interactions, is meticulously crafted to create a harmonious and delightful user journey.

    Deliverables: Shipped web-based user interface designs, Figma UI kit components, contributions to both new and existing design systems.

  • Over my career I have crafted and delivered over 1,000 keynotes, seminars, workshops, product demos, and ILTs for 215,000+ individuals. When speaking to audiences, I strive to keep it informative yet enjoyable, helping my audiences focus in on the most impactful and actionable information by simplifying complexity and engaging storytelling. (and most importantly, always ending on time!)

  • In college, I began my leadership track recruiting, training, and leading teams of volunteers supporting youth development program sites. Since then, I have lead professional teams across a wide-range of projects. Those teams have included UX designers, software engineers, marketing specialists, interns, hospitality professionals, and on-stage performers.

  • I have extensive experience delivering copy across a wide range of industries, and can successfully explain the differences between an en dash, em dash, and hyphen (yes, I am a grammar nerd).

    Deliverables: UX copy, internal training, B2C marketing campaigns, B2C website copy, non-profit fundraising appeals.

  • I have created hundreds of award-winning docu-shorts, motion graphics, sizzle reels, and training films for a wide range of clients, with a special focus in veterinary health, activism, and non-profits. I also have experience recording and editing podcasts, keynotes, and other long-form audio.

    Deliverables: short-form documentaries, podcast episodes, training films, website promos, fundraising event testimonials, training, logo bumpers, trade show animations, and more.

Education: B.A. in Organizational Communications & Performing Arts, Northern Arizona University.

Most Meaningful Volunteer Work: Advocating for the wellbeing of LGBTQ youth, because everyone deserves to be loved for who they are.

Favorite Hike: Overnight to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back (I highly recommend it, but have never been that sore IN MY LIFE).

Current Gaming Obsession: Traversing the galaxy in Starfield. I just became a Freestar Collective Ranger! (please clap)
