My Name is Drea, and I'm Racing Around the World.

On August 1, 2009 I leave on The World Race. My team and I will travel to 11 countries over 11 months, sharing the love of Christ with those less fortunate than ourselves. Everywhere we go, we will partner with local ministries, so the work of the kingdom will continue after we leave. To give you a vision for what we'll be doing, here is what other World Racers are doing right now:

• Working with victims of the sex slave industry in Thailand, rescuing them from the bondage of prostitution and finding them legitimate jobs.
• Leading sports camps for the gypsies in Romania.
• Feeding and housing the orphaned victims of genocide in Cambodia.

The work we do is critical to fullfilling the Lord's command to care for the destitute. I hope you'll be a part of making it happen.

As I sit here and try to portray to you who I am and how I got to this place, I cannot think of holier ground to give you a picture of my heart than this very porch and these very people that surround me. The melody of incredible music mixed with the conversation and laughter of my community rings in my spirit. Our time together is laden with moments of grace, love and abundant truth. This tribe, this family of friends, consistently points me back to the cross and who I was created to be. Our journey together has been one of intense joy and immense brokenness. We are continually being pursued by our creator and are given a choice, daily, moment by moment, to respond one way or another. Either choosing Gods story or choosing to write our own. The refining process His story offers is raw, challenging, and messy.... but every second with Him is worth it.

And that's my story. A compilation of choosing Christ, His glory, and too often choosing my own.

The adventure of this World Race is a leap of faith for me into my Daddy's arms. Trusting His will, believing and acting on my call to die to myself, and for the moment, choosing to be a part of His story.....
